Snippet 5: 25+ Product Roles, Pivoting a Business, and Crying in H-Mart
PdM internships/jobs, some YouTube recommendations, and a book recommendation
If you’re here for the product jobs, scroll down to the "Product Roles" section!
Finally back! Ended up going on a road trip down Highway 101 to the Bay Area 2 weeks ago which messed up my regularly scheduled posts. Fortunately, we’ll be back to 2 snippets a month and 1 longer post a month again : )
Look at the top segment for product roles and scroll to the bottom for my media recommendations : )
Product Roles
Some product roles I found on the internet. I’ve helped 80+ people learn and land interviews and roles at companies like Microsoft, Duolingo, Palo Alto Networks, PayPal, US News, and many more.

[YouTube Video] Pivoting Your Business - Thomas Frank
If you’re familiar with the productivity tools or a college student looking for productivity tips, you’ve probably come across the internet entrepreneur Thomas Frank (originally the College Info Geek and now well known for his Notion expertise).
In this video, he breaks down why he stopped posting on his YouTube channel, how he pivoted his business, the steps he took to make the pivot successful, how he’s using this pivot to build more new products, and more. It’s rare you get such a clear inside look when a company shifts focus and it was a joy to watch. Personally, I’ll be using it as an inspiration and somewhat of a guidepost for my own entrepreneurial endeavors and I hope you find it similarly insightful!
[Book] Crying in H Mart - Michelle Zauner
Michelle Zauner took the world by storm with her memoir, “Crying in H Mart” when it released in 2021. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to read this gem of a book until this past January. If you want a gist of the book,
“Crying in H Mart is a memoir about grief Korean cooking losing her mother to aggressive GI cancer and how she used Korean cooking to navigate her grief and an alternative type of therapy.” -Zauner in an Interview with Penguin Random House
If you haven’t dabbled in memoirs (like myself), this is a fantastic place to start. The book was moving and for me it was incredible to think that the author had had such different life experiences at an age so close to my own.
All I can say, is give the book a read and give your parents/guardians a big hug the next time you see them.
Thanks for reading and all the best,
Frank
PS - Please please please watch the movie American Fiction! I won’t say much other than it is fantastically written and absolutely hilarious.
